Lilian Ng'ang'a Explains Why Being Called a 'Bed-to-Bed Midfielder' Left Her Disappointed

Lilian Ng'ang'a has now revealed that she was disappointed when Kenyans started calling her a bed-to-bed midfielder, saying that she has only dated two men — Alfred Mutua and Juliani — from the age of 25 to now that she's 40. A record 15 years.

Lilian surprised the nation in June 2021 when she transferred from Alfred Mutua FC, an extremely rich club, to Juliani FC, a struggling musician club. The move left many Kenyans wondering what exactly she had seen in the singer.

The transfer was widely compared to moving from Manchester City to Gor Mahia.

However, the move would quickly pay off. While Mutua had allegedly spent nearly 11 years trying to find the back of the net without success, Juliani came off the bench and scored almost immediately, with the couple later welcoming a child the following year, in July 2022. The baby boy is called Utheri, which means "light."

The two separated in 2024, with Lilian citing a million and one reasons for the separation, including emotional neglect by Juliani.

To this day, football analysts, relationship experts, and idle Kenyans on social media are still studying the transfer window to understand how Juliani managed to pull off one of the biggest signings in recent Kenyan history.
